Today, President of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili visited Ganmukhuri and Anaklia. President opened newly constructed bridge over the river Enguri. Respective bridge connects Anaklia with Ganmukhuri. The bridge is 360 meters long. It has been constructed within four months. As President noted, it will facilitate to develop tourism infrastructure. President of Georgia was the first who crossed the respective bridge. 

 

Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia attended the opening ceremony.

 

A new bridge is opened over the river Enguri, which has 13 spans.   Total length of the bridge is 360 m, but carriageway width is 8m. Construction of a new bridge will promote to creation of uninterrupted and comfortable traffic movement within the urban areas. Also, it will improve social condition of the local communities.


Due to non-existence of the bridge, traffic movement within Anaklia and Ganmukhuri was carried out by means of bypass road. Local communities had to drive more than 20 km.  This bridge has a strategical importance in the region; 200 people were engaged in construction of Anaklia-Ganmukhuri Bridge.


 
Georgian Construction Company “Zimo” Ltd implemented construction works. Works are executed by the Order of the Government (it was financed under the state.
