Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia will inspect rehabilitation works carried out on 4,3 km long section of Rikoti Tunnel bypass road. 

Carriageway of the mentioned section shall be rehabilitated and a new asphalt-concrete pavement will be applied on it. Also, the project envisages widening of the lacet thus will enable traffic as for light cars as well as for heavy vehicles. As a result of rehabilitation works, traffic will be permissible for all type of vehicles. Currently, construction of road bed is underway.

It should be noted that on 14 April, 2010 was signed a contract related to rehabilitation of bypass road of Rikoti Tunnel and Rikoti Tunnel, located at 142 km of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze road. To that end, large scaled rehabilitation works shall be carried out on bypass road.

Rehabilitation works of 4,3 km long section of Rikoti Tunnel bypass road are performed by Georgian company “Gza 2005” Ltd. Value of works financed under the World Bank amounts to 1 mln 965 thousand GEL.
