Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia inspected rehabilitation works carried out on 2 km long road section, which is accessing road to Motsameta Monastery. Motsameta Monastery is located in 6 km from Kutaisi, in the gorge of village Tskaltsitela.

Road rehabilitation works at mentioned section consider construction of asphalt-concrete pavement on the carriageway. It also envisages restoration of structures, culverts, ditches and drainage system. Currently construction of roadbed, road base and ditches are underway.
 

Motsameta Monastery is one of the ancient and important monuments in the history of Georgia. Tskaltsitela gorge plays an important role in economical, tourist and cultural life of Georgia. Within the recent years, one of the major priorities for Georgian Government is facilitation of tourism development in the country.
 

Rehabilitation works are performed by Georgian company “Vereli +” Ltd. Value of works financed under the state budget amounts to 1 mln 352 thousand GEL. Rehabilitation of respective road section will be finalized within the current year.
