Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia inspected rehabilitation works conducted on 27km long section of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi (secondary) road.


Reconstruction works for 27 km long section of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi road are executed under the World Bank financing. Hundreds of Georgian citizens are involved in construction activities.


 
Project has a great importance for the development of economy and tourism potential in the region. Reconstruction of road network will promote integration of Georgian tourist routes into the international network. It should be mentioned, that travel time from Tbilisi to Telavi would be substantially decreased as a result of roads reconstruction. Considerable traffic flow moving towards Kakheti direction will be diverted to the respective road. While working on the design, route, passing through densely populated areas, was selected among the alternative alignments in order to improve social condition of the local communities. Roads reconstruction will promote to the development of regional infrastructure.
