First stage of the Meeting of Tender Commission related to the upgrading of km 27-km54 section of Vaziani-Gombori-Telavi secondary road was held at the conference hall of Roads Department. Ten construction companies submitted bid proposals.    

The project has a great importance for the development of the economy; also, it will promote tourism potential. Reconstruction of road network on respective direction will assist integration of Georgian tourist routes into the international network.  It should be noted, that Road rehabilitation will considerably reduce transit time from Tbilisi to Telavi. Major traffic flow, riding in the direction of Kakheti will be diverted to the mentioned road. During design process, from proposed alternative alignments was selected an option, which considered future improvement of social condition of the local communities. Road improvement will facilitate to the development of regional infrastructure.
