Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department will visit Gudauri-Kobi section of Mtskheta-Kobi-Gudauri road in order to conduct on-site monitoring of road cleaning works.

It should be noted, that in wintertime, Roads Department regularly carries out all necessary actions to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement on roads. Roads are regularly cleaned during the tourist season, thus enables Georgian citizens and foreign tourists to drive without any disturbance towards Gudauri.

In this regard, Roads Department makes an appeal to drivers to abstain from riding in disabled vehicles with worn out tires. Also, the request is to utilize anti skid chains, obey established traffic rules and requirements of road service.  Disobedience of drivers impedes road-cleaning works and facilitates to create traffic jams.

Due to the limited visibility and a risk of snow avalanche, by that time traffic movement on Gudauri-Kobi section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road is restricted for all type of vehicles. Traffic movement is forbidden for trailers, semi-trailers and for buses with more than 30 seats along Mleta-Gudauri and Kobi–Stepantsminda sections of respective road.  For other vehicles, movement is permissible by means of antiskid chains. Movement for tandem-drive vehicles is free. Machinery is mobilized and cleaning works are underway. Traffic movement is free on other sections of the road.
