Mr. David Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department will open 3 km long road section of Kutaisi-Alpana-Mamisoni pass  and  a bridge located at 113 km of the same road  in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region.

3 km long section and a bridge were rehabilitated on respective road. New asphalt-concrete pavement was constructed. Also structures, culverts, ditches (drain channels), water drain system were provided. Sidewalks were arranged on the bridge, total length of which is 66 m. Railings were renovated, regulating structures and gabions were provided and piers were reinforced. Asphalt-concrete pavement was constructed on the carriageway; reflective posts were installed at the bridge approaches.

Value of road rehabilitation works financed under the state budget amounts to 1 mln. 970 thousand GEL. Works were performed by Ltd “Ambrolauri Avtogza No.10”. Value of bridge rehabilitation works  financed under the state budget amounts to 252 thousand GEL. Rehabilitation works were conducted by Ltd “Besko”.
At the same time, Mr. David Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia will conduct on-site monitoring of rehabilitation works for 8 km long section of Saketsia-Bugeuli cement-concrete road in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region.

Rehabilitation works on mentioned section considers construction of new cement-concrete pavement with German technology, average operating period of which lasts 30-35 years. On 8 km long section of Saketsia-Bugeuli road will be arranged road base and then 18 cm cement-concrete pavement will be applied on it. Old culverts will be rehabilitated and new ones will be constructed. Also, roadbed, ditches, road signs, structures and road markings will be provided for mentioned section. Currently, 4 km long cement-concrete road is already paved.

Construction of cement-concrete pavement is carried out by Ltd ”Arqeopolisi”. Many Georgian citizens are engaged in construction activities. Rehabilitation of 8 km long road section was commenced in September and will be finalized in 2010.
