Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili plans to open 6 km road section of Kakhati-Koki-Orsantia local road in Samegrelo region.

Works at mentioned road section started in June 2009. Road rehabilitation works considered stabilization of the existing pavement with cement and construction of new asphalt-concrete pavement, restoration of structures, culverts, ditches and drainage system. It also considered the works related to sidewalks, installation of road signs and marking. Road rehabilitation works have already been completed.

Value of works financed under the World Bank amounts to 1 mln. 445 thousand GEL. Works at mentioned section were performed by “Zugdidi Road Management” Ltd.

It should be noted, that compactly settled refuges live in the villages located in the vicinity of mentioned 6 km road section. After rehabilitation of the road, movement will become more comfortable and social condition of population will be improved.
