Mr. David Tkeshelashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia and Mr. David Kirkitadze, Governor of Kvemo Kartli will attend the construction commencement process for 8 km long section of Kveshi-Dzedzmariani-Tandzia road (near the village Tandzia) in Kvemo Kartli region. The works are ongoing within the scope of pilot project, which is implemented in Georgia for the first time and considers construction of concrete roads in villages by means of modern technologies.


Construction works on mentioned section considers construction of new cement-concrete pavement with German technology, average operating period of which lasts 30-35 years. Rehabilitation of road network will assist to creation of more comfortable traffic movement within urban areas and will improve social conditions of the population.


Construction of cement-concrete pavement will be completed in 2010. Works are executed by Ltd “New Energy”, total price amounts to 200 thousand mln GEL (financed by the state budget).


According to the Government Decree, in 2009-2010 cement-concrete pavement will be constructed on 130 km rural roads in various regions of Georgia.
