Rehabilitation of 445 m. bridge over the river Chorokhi is in progress

Based on conducted studies rehabilitation works have started at existing 445 m. bridge over the river Chorokhi at km.110 of Senaki-Poti-Sarpi international road. Rehabilitation envisages strengthening of piers and capital repairing of the bridge. Namely, bridge rehabilitation project considers:  reinforcement of drilled piles and piers; arrangement of water outlet system at bridge deck and reinforced-concrete slab at sidewalks; cleaning of metal railings, painting of guardrails and construction of asphalt-concrete pavement at both bridge approaches by utilization of milling technology. Metal barriers will be restored and new sign posts will be installed at bridge approaches.

Respective bridge is one of the most important road communications in the region and it is located at central highway that connects Turkey to Georgia.   At present, reinforcement of piers, drilling-concreting of piles and repairing of sidewalks is underway. 

Rehabilitation works are actively progressing and will be completed by the end of the year.
