Construction of Kobuleti Bypass road (Lot I) will be completed in September

Kobuleti Bypass road- new alignment of Choloki-Sarpi road LOT I

Length of the section to be constructed - km 12,4+km2.3 (Chakvi-Makhinjauri section  4 lane road)

Construction of bridges and overpasses at km0-km12.4 of Kobuleti Bypass road is already completed. Construction of culverts and underpasses is also completed.

At present installation of railings at overpasses is underway. Construction of New-Jersey barriers at bridges is finalized. Also construction of asphalt-concrete layers, sub-grade and metal guardrails is in progress.

Existing two-lane Chakvi-Makhinjauri road (km30-km33) is widening to four-lane road within the scope of the project wherein earthwork (arrangement of cut) is ongoing.  

Construction of drainage systems (ditches) is progressing concurrently.

Construction works started on April 20, 2011 and will be completed on September 1, 2013. Construction works are performed by contractor company “Sinohydro. Donor is Asian Development Bank (ADB). Budget of the project amounts to GEL 115,497,153.97.
