Progress of rehabilitation works in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti

1. Works for construction of upper retaining walls at km135 of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili road (near village Kaeri) are underway.

According to the design cast-in-situ concrete mass will be built on existing walls  to reach the required height (height of walls is not sufficient to protect the road). Damaged concrete layer at the wall surface and gabion wires will be also removed-renewed.

At the moment, the existing wall is being cleared from landslip, geodetic measurement works and repairing of gabion wire is underway. Rehabilitation works are performed by Iberia Ltd and Georgian Alpinist Club Vertical Ltd.

Cost of the works financed by the state budget amount to GEL 254,000.

Implementation period -  04.04.2013 – 31.08.2013.

2. Works for restoration of roadbed affected by the landslip processes at km94 of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili road (municipality of Mestia) are under progress.

The design envisages: construction of lower retaining wall; restoration of roadbed; construction of upper retaining wall of the gabion; installation of steel ring pipe; construction of cast-in-situ concrete ditch; arrangement of steel gabion guardrail.

Implementation period - 18.03.2013 – 30.11.2013

Contract value – GEL 94000.00

3. The works for restoration of failing roadbed and treatment of rock slope to prevent rockfall are ongoing at km 95 of mentioned road.

The design envisages treatment of slope by means of drilling and explosion method  (as a result of which the roadbed will be widened as well); construction of gabion retaining wall and restoration of damaged concrete surface of the existing wall.

Preparatory works, drilling-explosive works and removal of rock mass are carried out as of 15^th May.

Implementation period – 18.03.2013 – 30.11.2013.

4. Rehabilitation of 7 km section of Ingiri-Shamgona road is underway

At the moment the following works are ongoing: stabilization of existing foundation and construction of leveling layer and asphalt-concrete pavement.

Rehabilitation works are implemented by Zugdidi Ltd. The cost of works funded by the World Bank amounts to GEL 2 mln 926,3 thousand .

The works commenced on 31.10.2012 and will be completed on 31.12.2013.

5. Rehabilitation of  4,925 m section of Zugdidi-Anaklia road is underway

At the moment the following works are ongoing:  recycling of foundation, construction of leveling layer and asphalt-concrete pavement.

Rehabilitation works are implemented by Sani Ltd. The cost of works funded by state budget amounts to GEL 2 mln 852,8 thousand.

The works commended on 31.08.2012 and will be completed on 30.06.2013.

Rehabilitation of the existing bridges and access roads at 1 km section of Zugdidi-Anaklia road

At the moment the following works are ongoing: construction of temporary bypass road and installation of steel pipes.

Rehabilitation works are carried  out by Khidmsheni Ltd. The cost of works financed by state budget amounts to GEL 1 mln 562,4 thousand.

Works commenced on 13.03.2013 and will be completed on 30.11.2013.

Rehabilitation of certain damaged sections with length 2,151 m of Senaki-Poti-Sarpi, Poti port road (via Khobi street)

At the moment the following works are ongoing: Mobilization of materials. Rehabilitation works are performed by Fin-estate Ltd. The cost of works financed by state budget amounts to GEL 1 mln 949 thousand.

Works commenced on 25.02.2013 and will be completed on 30.11.2013.

Rehabilitation of 16,5 km long section of Nokalakevi-Ledzadzame-Didi Chkoni road

Currently following works are in progress: paving of asphalt-concrete on sidewalks, laying concrete at local entrances and arrangement of gabion walls.

Rehabilitation works are implemented by Ltd Arqeopolisi. Cost of the works financed by the World Bank amounts to GEL 6,855,300. Rehabilitation started on October 31, 2012 and will be completed on May 01, 2013.

Rehabilitation of 5 km long section of Nosiri-Gedjeti-Nokalakevi road 

Currently following works are in progress: arrangement of enclosed bus stop.

Rehabilitation works are implemented by Ltd Arqeopolisi. Cost of the works financed by the World Bank amounts to GEL 1,931,400.

Starting date: 15.09.2012; Completion date:  15.11.13.

Construction of a new bridge over the river Tekhura, which is located at 7 km of access road to Salkhino-Dadiani Palace

Currently following works are in progress: preparatory works, preparation of drilling machine for commencement of drilling works.

Length of the bridge  - 64,8 m. width – 17,5 m

Rehabilitation works are implemented by Ltd Zimo. Cost of the works financed by the state budget amounts to GEL 1,219,500.

Starting date: 21.02.2013; Completion date: 31.11.13.

Rehabilitation of existing bridge over the river Noghela, which is located at 32 km of Senaki-Nokalakevi-Bandza-Khoni road

Currently following works are in progress: drilling-casting reinforced-concrete piles, preparation of reinforcing cage for piles and mobilization of construction materials.

Length of the bridge - 18 m. width – 10,5 m

Rehabilitation works are implemented by Ltd Sakharisiani. Cost of the works financed by the state budget amounts to GEL 373 000.

Starting date: 16.04.2013. Completion date: 30.11.13.

Horizontal marking of 292,8 m long secondary roads in Guria and Samegrelo regions

At this stage preparatory works are ongoing. Road marking works are implemented by Ltd Indiko.  Cost of the works financed by the state budget amounts to GEL 288,600.

Starting date: 16.05.2013; Completion date: 15.07.13.
