Asian Development Bank will allocate additional funding for the construction of Kobuleti bypass road. Agreement on the financing was signed by the Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank Mr. Xiaoyu Zhao and the Minister of Finance of Georgia Mr. Dmitry Gvindadze  in Kobuleti. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili. Kobuleti bypass road is the segment of Adjara Bypass road. The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure implements construction works.

This section will be covered with asphalt - concrete cover. Railroad crossing Estacada will be built; three transportation nodes will be arranged. 5 bridges and 5 passages through the dry ravine will be constructed. Artificial structures, retaining walls, drainage systems and appropriate infrastructure will be arranged. Kobuleti bypass will be begun near the village Natanebi, will go through 20 villages and will be end in Makhinjauri. Additional funding is necessary to complete Kobuleti bypass road construction perfectly. At the first step, construction works of Kobuleti bypass (with length 12.4 km - meter) and modernization of Chakvi -Makhindjauri 2 lines road (with length 3 km), to 4 lines highway has been started as well. Construction works are ongoing intensively. The road is very important because after of its construction, the resort town Kobuleti will be unloaded from transit traffic at all, and it will contribute to environmental improvement and comfortable movement of tourists and to encourage of investment. Almost 1000 - people are employed on the project directly and indirectly 70% of them are the local population.
