Two central sides of Sachkhere will connect to each other with two new bridges. Today the Minister of Regional Development and infrastructure Ramaz Nikolaishvili together with the Governor of Imereti region Lasha Maqatsaria has visited the ongoing and finished works on the bridges.

Two years ago flood had taken away the road bridge which was placed in the center of the town. As a result the residents had to move from one side of the city to another through amortized bypass. The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia have reconstructed 4km bypass road and has begun constructing of two: pedestrian and road bridges on the 56th km of Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestafoni road on the river Kvirila.  The bridge with length of 56 meters and with width 16 meters is being built on the mentioned section of the road. The project includes installation of the props, construction of embankment walls, railings and pavement of asphalt on the road. The pedestrian bridge has been built in 100 meters from the road bridge. Its length is 56 meters and width 5 meters. As a result, the residents who had to walk four kilometers to reach the central market will be able to do it easily.

The project which is being implemented by the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure is financed by the Government of Georgia. 50 people are employed on the constructing works, most of whom are the local residents.
