Today, Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure along with Mr. Lasha Makatsaria, the State Representative-Governor of Imereti region and Mr. Vakhtang Balavadze, the Chairman of the Committee on Regional Policy, Local Self Government and the Mountainous Regions of Georgia visited ongoing construction works of euro-standard cycle track along Agmashenebeli Avenue in Kutaisi. Cycle track is being constructed along the sidewalks and its length is 7km.
Sidewalks shall be fully reconstructed together with construction of cycle track. Concrete will be laid on the pavement of cycle track and it will be covered by special purple strengthening layer. Sidewalks will be paved with concrete slabs. Benches will be provided in recreation zone; trees and shrubs will be planted. Road signs will be installed along cycle track.
Construction of the similar cycle track was completed a few days ago in Kvareli. Construction of cycle tracks is planned in other regions of Georgia. Well organized cycle tracks will promote to develop cycle racing and help to keep healthy life.
