The second phase of rehabilitation works of Rikoti Tunnel, located at 143 km of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze road has been resumed today; Rikoti Tunnel will come into operation by the end of the current year.
First phase of rehabilitation works in Rikoti Tunnel was completed in November of the last year. At this stage, worn out utilities are dismantled and removed; first phase of tunnel reinforcement works are completed.
During the rehabilitation period, traffic will be diverted to Rikoti Tunnel bypass road. Mentioned road is completely safe; it was rehabilitated by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure in 2010. .
