Rehabilitation of 50 m long weather-beaten section of the overpass (with total length 549 meters) at 9 km of Tbilisi Bypass road is completed.
Traffic movement on the overpass was impossible since it was damaged. The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has implemented the rehabilitation works. 2 spans of the overpass were restored; one new pier was built, which is secured by 21 m long piles; asphalt pavement was constructed, road marking was provided and railings were painted in line with the design. Also, shore protection works were carried out in the river bed.
Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and Mr. Gigi Ugulava, the Mayor of Tbilisi has opened the rehabilitated overpass.
