Batumi-Akhaltsikhe Road Project (BARP)

Georgia has received a loan from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) toward the cost of the Batumi-Akhaltsike Road Project (Khulo - Goderdzi Section) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to procure goods, civil works and consulting services under the Project with co-financing of the Georgian Government.

The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (RDMRDI) now invites Individual Consultants (Consultants) to express their interest in providing the following services: “Project Manager”.

The contract is expected to last 2 years with possibility to downstream assignment, subject to project implementation progress. It is expected that the International Consultant will work in Georgia 10 calendar days in every quarter, which amounts to 40 days in a calendar year.

Interested individuals shall provide information demonstrating that they have the necessary experience to perform the aforesaid services. CVs of the candidates should cover experience in relevant to the project activities.

Required Qualification of the Consultant:

• Degree in civil Engineering (advanced degree will be an advantage).
• At least 15 years of experience in the road sector.
• Relevant experience in large civil works projects financed by KFAED.
• Should be well versed with contract law, as well as FIDIC Supervision and Civil Works Contracts;
• Knowledge and practical experience in quality control procedures;
• Very good knowledge of English language is mandatory;
• Strong negotiation skills will be an advantage;
• Proficiency in standard and specialized desktop computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Autodesk Autocad and electronic mail.
