We would like to respond to the information spread repeatedly in the media that the residential building located in Uznadze Street N132 in the city of Zestafon was allegedly damaged by the construction of the tunnel on the Shorapani-Argveta section.

Before the construction works of the main road, at the stage of the previous construction studies, a survey of all residential houses within 250 meters from the tunnel, including Uznadze st. According to the census, the residential apartments in the building were damaged even before the start of construction works, and there were many large cracks on the walls.

Since the existing cracks in the residence gave a security obligation, from November 2021, the citizens living in the building were provided with temporary rent during the works.

In order to determine the impact of construction works on the building, after the start of the works, the Roads Department applied to the National Bureau of Forensic Expertise named after SSI Levan Samkharauli.

According to the conclusion of the initial examination, the construction works of the tunnel on the apartments, according to the data taken for the purpose of visual inspection and control, had no impact. After the completion of the construction of the tunnel near the building, the department again applied to the examination bureau. According to the second conclusion, the construction works carried out on the Shorapani-Argveta section have no influence on the technical condition of the building.

Taking into account the mentioned conclusions, it was not confirmed that Uznadze st. Impact of construction works on residential building in N132. The tunneling works have also been completed. Consequently, there is no longer any reason to provide rent to the residents of the building.
