According to the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, near the 147th kilometer of the Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze international road (on the Chumateleti-Khevi section), under the conditions of constant monitoring by specialists, a place where rockfall could develop was identified.

Due to the safety of vehicles, the Roads Department has decided to temporarily stop the traffic on Rikoti Pass. As a result of provoking the collapse of the non-solid mass of the slope, the land mass has fallen. At this stage, the intensive road cleaning and clearing works are underway.

At the moment, all types of traffic is temporarily restricted on the km 114-km 194 section of the Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze internatonal road. (Akhalsofli traffic junction-Zestafoni).

At the Ricoti Pass, after the completion of the works and receiving the appropriate recommendations from the specialists on road safety, the traffic will be restored.

During the period of restriction of traffic on the section of the Rikoti Pass, light traffic will be carried out through the Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiathura-Zestafoni secondary road. And the traffic of trailers and semi-trailers is restricted.
