Periodic repair works of the 18 km (km36-km54) section of Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhi are actively being carried out within the framework of the project, the renovation of the existing pavement is being carried out, the arrangement of appropriate road signs and road belongings is planned to be completed by the end of this year, as a result of which the conditions for smooth and comfortable movement of vehicles will be ensured. It is financed from the state budget and its estimated cost is 7764495.58 GEL

Giorgi Tsereteli, chairman of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Roads Department, and his deputy, Pavle Gamkrelidze, got acquainted with the completed and ongoing rehabilitation projects in the Kakheti region.

In 2022, in the Kakheti region, in addition to the construction of roads, 26 projects were underway with a total value of 140 million. up to GEL, of which 8 projects have been completed. In total, up to 60 km of road was rehabilitated, 1 bridge was rehabilitated and 1 embankment project (1.2 km long) was implemented.

Within the framework of the mentioned projects, the rehabilitation of such important road sections as: 26 km section of Gumbati-Khirsa-Enamta-Samtatskaro-Sabatlo road, Tianeti-Akhmeta connecting road, 11 km section of Tianeti-Akhmeta-Kvareli-Ninigori road, Zemo Khodasheni- Up to 12 km section of Alaverdi connecting road, Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road traffic safety improvement project and others.

The mentioned projects will increase the tourism potential in the Kakheti region, will contribute to the further development of the economy, and the local population will be able to enjoy safe and comfortable roads equipped with modern standards.
