Rehabilitation works of the first, 11 km section of the Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestaponi secondary road are underway.

The rehabilitation section is located in Khashuri municipality and will pass through the villages: Gomi, Vaka and partly Ali. This road connects Shida Kartli and Imereti regions.

Ongoing works include complete rehabilitation of the road. Land works were carried out, road clothes and artificial buildings, joins and entrances to the yard were arranged. Also, road signs will be arranged and the carriageway will be marked. At this stage, asphalt-concrete pavement has already been laid on a 6-kilometer section of the road.

The project is financed from the state budget and its cost is 8.4 GEL. The works are planned to be completed by the end of this year.
