According to the National Environment Agency, the level of avalanche danger is low up to 99 km from Gudauri of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi international road and it is possible to carry out cleaning works.

Cleaning works were carried out in all directions on the roads of Georgia throughout the night. Due to the difficult meteorological conditions, active cleaning works and dumping of sand-salt mixture were carried out in the whole of Georgia, except for the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi direction, in order to avoid traffic jams on the roads.

Traffic on certain sections of the road is restricted in the morning for any type of vehicle, while on some it is allowed to move only with anti-slip chains.

Despite the ongoing road cleaning work, the movement of vehicles, in addition to heavy rainfall, was hampered yesterday by the movement of anti-slip chains of vehicles, and in some cases, by off-season tires.

At the moment, due to the avalanche danger, the restriction on the movement of all types of vehicles is still valid on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi international road On Mleta-Gudauri section, the traffic is carried out in non-stop mode.

Due to heavy snow and low temperatures, the movement of trailers and semi-trailers is still restricted on some sections of Rikoti Pass. And in some sections traffic is permitted only with the use of anti-slip chains.

Due to heavy snow, the movement of trailers and semi-trailers is also restricted in Khashuri-Atskuri, Sachkhere-Oni, Kutaisi-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri (Nakerala Pass), Lentekhi-Mele, Monastery of Khaishi-Kala, Akhaltsikhe-Akhaltsikhe and Akhaltsikhe Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestaponi road on km 12-km 106 section.

All types of vehicles are restricted on mountain roads - Korsha-Shatili section, Kala-Ushguli section, Paravani pass section.

The Roads Department calls on the population to follow the restrictions imposed on Georgian roads and on roads where precipitation and low temperatures are expected to drive with seasonal winter tires.
