The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is starting the construction of the Poti Bridge and access roads.

In Poti, the planned eight-point steel-reinforced concrete bridge over the Rioni River is 436 meters long, and the length of access roads is 2 km in total. The construction cost is 60.8 million GEL and will be implemented with the financial support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The construction works will be performed by the company "MIRBUD-CS Joint Venture", which won the international tender. The term of completion of the works is 2 years.

The current road in Poti passes through a hydroelectric plant, the technical parameters of which do not meet the smooth and safe movement of vehicles. The construction of a new eight-span steel-reinforced concrete bridge will solve the existing problems and ensure safe road travel and uninterrupted transit traffic in the direction of Poti, on the road of high intensity of international importance.

Poti Bridge is an integral part of the E60-E70 highway. The highway is the shortest connecting road between Europe and Asia. Given the location of the highway, it will become a major transport link between the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea and Central Asia.
