Roads Department conducts the second phase of disaster elimination works in the region of Racha. The works are developed under two projects and will ensure complete reconstruction of the disaster affected road infrastructure.

The project includes a section of the road from the city of Oni to Shovi resort, where disaster elimination and restoration works will be conducted on a total of 16 sites. At this stage, active works are underway at 8 sites, and preparatory works have started in parallel with the rest of the sites. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

Restoration works at disaster affected road infrastructure in Racha is funded from the state budget. The project totals GEL 35.5 million. 

The disaster took place in Racha in July 2020. It significantly affected Oni-Shovi road sections. The first stage of disaster elimination works was developed in 2020, in order to ensure traffic movement, while the second phase will include the complete reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
