Within the frame of the Cities Support Project, Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is actively developing rehabilitation works of the streets of the City of Kutaisi.

Rehabilitation of 60 streets in Kutaisi has been underway since 2019, including 2 central ones - the complete rehabilitation of Agmashenebeli and Tsereteli streets started in September 2020, and in 2019-2020 the rehabilitation of 2 central avenues of Akhalgazrdoba and Chavchavadze was completed.

The works envisage asphalt-concrete pavement, rehabilitation of artificial structures, development of water pipes, curbs, sidewalks and arrangement of traffic signs.

Total cost of the rehabilitation works exceeds GEL 39 million and an overall length of the streets to be rehabilitated is over 34km.

In 2020, as part of the Cities Support Project, a total of 113 streets were rehabilitated in Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Poti, of which 40 streets have already been completed and work is underway on the rest.

Inside the boundaries of the Cities Support Project, road infrastructure will be improved, drainage systems will be upgraded, junctions will be arranged, and local and entrances to the yards, curbs and sidewalks will be developed. Once the works are completed, safe, comfortable traffic in the city will be ensured and travel time and costs will be reduced.
