Construction of Rikoti pass road is actively progressing. A new tunnel in the village of Shrosha, Ubisa-Shorapani section has already been cut within the project. In total, Ubisa-Shorapani project envisages construction of 13km long road, 27 bridges and 18 tunnels.

In total, 6 tunnels have already been cut on the Rikoti pass road by this time, and construction work is underway on 39 tunnels out of the 53.

The length of the tunnel cut in the village of Shrosha is 885 meters and is the longest among the tunnels cut so far on the new Rikoti pass road.

The new around 52-kilometer long Rikoti pass road, which includes 96 bridges and 53 tunnels, will reduce the distance by 30 kilometers after the completion of the East-West Highway and halve the travel time.
