Roads Department of Georgia completed rehabilitation works of 15.4 km long Kintvisi-Gverdzineti-Tkemlovani local road.
The mentioned road was mostly soil road thus significantly impeded traffic. Complete rehabilitation of the road was implemented under the project. Structures were upgraded, ditches and gabions were arranged and a new bridge crossing was constructed over Dzama River. Junctions to local roads, entrances to the residents’ yards and traffic signs were arranged under the project
The section to be rehabilitated starts from the territory of Kintsvisi village and by passing through Gverdzineti continues up to Tkemlovani village. The mentioned road is the only access way to church-monastery located in River Dzama gorge. Together with locals, monks of the monastery complex, pilgrims and tourists, use the road.
18 villages use the mentioned road and it connects 22 villages with critical infrastructure.
Project is financed from the state budget and its value is GEL 14, 489, 880. Rehabilitation works have been implemented by the company Black Sea Group.
