Rehabilitation of Zugdidi-Anaklia road commenced

Rehabilitation of existing 3.4 km long Zugdidi-Anaklia secondary road section (km5-km7) has been commenced.

The road to be rehabilitated passes through one of the densely populated territory of Zugdidi municipality- Ingiri village.

Existing asphalt-concrete pavement is damaged, while the carriageway is deformed that impedes traffic, especially in rainy weather. Design considers complete improvement of road infrastructure. Asphalt-concrete pavement will be laid at 3.4 km long section; drainage channels, reinforced-concrete ditches and culverts will be arranged. Also, junctions to local roads, entrances to private yards and sidewalks for pedestrians will be arranged under the project. Road signs and marking of the carriageway will be arranged to ensure traffic management and safe drive. 

Bus stops and passenger waiting areas will be arranged at special locations.

Rehabilitation works are funded from the state budget and the value is GEL 6 044 999. Project completion is expected in June 2021.
