A new 13km Khashuri bypass road will be open in the second half of August, on the East-West Highway (E60) section. The Khashuri bypass road starts at the last section of Agara-Zemo Osiauri road section and joins the existing road at the new junction in Surami.

The construction of the Rikoti Pass section is also in an active process.

New sections of the East-West highway will detour the so-called Khashuri "hammock market" and similar trading areas in Surami, Shrosha and Zestaponi.

In order to provide the residents of the surrounding villages to sell their products, special, safe trading areas with well-maintained infrastructure will be arranged for them along the relevant sections of the road as part of the new highway construction project.

The new retail spaces will enable the locals to further develop their business under secure and other necessary standards.
