Arrangement of temporary roads on collapsed sections damaged as a result of the disaster continues

Disaster clean-up operations have been continued in Racha for 5 days. As a result of intensive disaster clean-up operations, temporary road was arranged in 500 meters from km 127 of Kutaisi(Choma)-Alpana-Mamisoni pass secondary road, and collapsed section was restored. Heavy machinery continues working at km 128 and km129 to arrange temporary road and carry out geodetic works.

For the time being, 4 equipment are working on the mentioned section. In total 11 unit of machinery are working on disaster clean-up operations.

Traffic with 7 villages have been already restored, 5 villages still remain without roadway and corresponding works to set up a temporary road is ongoing.

Communication with the part of the villages is possible through temporary bypass roads.

 

Works are underway in Oni Municipality to turn the river back to its river-bed and temporary bridges are being set up in order to restore the traffic.

 

Representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Roads Department, United Water Supply Company, Energo Pro Georgia, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Emergency Management Agency and local government continue working in disaster zone
