Irakli Karseladze, Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia and Giorgi Tsereteli, Deputy Chairman left for the disaster zone in Racha to eliminate consequences of natural calamity.

Based on the initial information, disaster damaged several road sections from Oni to Shovi direction.

Representatives of the Department shall coordinate the process of restoration of damaged infrastructure and the measures required for elimination of the consequences of natural calamity. Mobilization of special machinery and equipment has already started.

On the instruction of Georgian Prime Minister, Sozar Subari, advisor to the prime minister for regional development issues, Irakli Karseladze and Ilia Begiashvili, deputy ministers of regional development and infrastructure, United Water Supply Company Director Giga Mandaria, Temur Mghebrishvili, Head of the Emergency Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Majoritarian Parliament Deputy Gocha Enukidze are in the disaster zone in Racha.

Works to save and help the population of the villages cut off from the rest of the world have commenced at several locations.
