Additional personnel engaged in Grigoleti-Kobuleti and Batumi Bypass Road projects after a mandatory 14-day quarantine.

Project implementing Turkish company POLATYOL, with the support of the Turkish Embassy in Georgia and Inter-Agency Coordination Council, has developed an action plan on safety precautions considering the recommendations on fighting against COVID-19.

Representatives of Turkish company arrived in Georgia on June 6.  After passing PCR testing at the border of Georgia, Company ensured to transfer them in a special quarantine zone. After elapsing a 14-day period, before leaving the quarantine, they have passed retesting and commenced working on the project based on the medical conclusion.

In spite of the worldwide pandemic outbreak, infrastructural projects have not been terminated in Georgia, but the pace of some of the projects is considerably slowed down due to the lack of a qualified workforce. In order to execute works more effectively and achieve progress, it became necessary to invite qualified and experienced experts from Turkey.

As a result of the agreement reached between Georgian and Turkish sides, additional personnel arrived in Georgia following all required rules effective in Georgia.

For the time being, 70% of persons employed at Grigoleti-Kobuleti and Batumi Bypass road projects are local population.

Georgian side also considers requests of other contractors on the possibility of bringing the experts required for the implementation of ongoing international projects following similar procedures and recommendations.
