A 13km section of Ponichala-Marneuli-Guguti road is underway.

The section to be rehabilitated is located in Kvemo Kartli region, Marneuli Municipality. Ponichala-Marneuli-Guguti road, by passing through Bolnisi, connects this region to the North-West region of Armenia at the shortest distance. Consequently, the proper functioning of this road is of great importance for the smooth implementation of transit traffic.

The existing road was damaged and full rehabilitation was needed to ensure safe and comfortable movement of vehicles. The project envisages upgrade of technical parameters of the road, rehabilitation of 3 bridges, rehabilitation-reconstruction of artificial structures, development of road pavement and arrangement of modern equipment for traffic safety. Road rehabilitation will significantly contribute to the rational use of the region’s economic potential.

The project, worth GEL 13, 399, 999 is funded from the state budget. The works are planned to be completed by the end of the current year.
