According to Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, heavy snow is falling in mountainous regions throughout Georgia. Road cleaning works are actively progressing in all directions.

 

Currently, the following restrictions are imposed on the roads:

Due to snow and glaze-ice, traffic at Gudauri (Posta)-Kobi section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi (border of the Russian Federation) international road is restricted for trailers and semi-trailers, while movement is free for other vehicles.

Based on information of the National Environmental Agency, traffic on Gudauri (Posta)-Kobi section will be carried out in non-stop mode only passing through the avalanche galleries.

Mentioned traffic mode will be enforced under direct supervision and coordination of the Patrol Police.

Due to snow, traffic at km138-km158 (Chumateleti- Khunevi) section of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze  (border of the Russian Federation) international road is restricted for trailers and semi-trailers, while  traffic is free for other vehicles. 

Due to snow, traffic at  km174-km192(Shrosha-Zestaponi) section of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze  (border of the Russian Federation) international road is restricted for trailers and semi-trailers, while  traffic is free for other vehicles. 

Due to heavy snow and low temperature, traffic at km1-km107 (Gomi-Zestaponi) section of Gomi-Sachkhere-Chiatura-Zestaponi secondary road is restricted for trailers and semi-trailers, while movement is free for other types of transport.

Due to adverse weather (snow and limited visibility), traffic at km1-km28 section of Nichbisi-Didgori-Didi Toneti secondary road is restricted for all types of transport.

Due to adverse weather (snow and glaze ice) traffic at km26-km33(Kvabgha-Chkhakaura) section of Chokhatauri-Bakhmaro secondary road is allowed only for 4WD vehicles, while movement for other vehicles is restricted.

Due to adverse weather (blizzard and limited visibility), traffic at km94-km105  (Paravani Pass) section of Koda-Partskhisi-Manglisi-Tsalka-Ninotsminda secondary road is restricted for all types of transport.

Due to heavy snow, traffic at km1-km149 (Choma-Shovi) section of Kutaisi(Choma)-Alpana-Mamisoni Pass (border of Russian Federation) secondary road is restricted for trailers and semi-trailers, while movement is free for other types of transport.

Due to heavy snow and clear ice, traffic at km1-km22 of Alpana-Tsageri secondary road is restricted for trailers  and semi-trailers, while movement for other vehicles is allowed only with application of anti-skid chains.  Traffic is free for tandem-drive vehicles.

Due to snow, traffic at km36-km62 (Nakerala Pass) section of Kutaisi (Motsameta)-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri secondary road, is restricted for trailers and semi-trailers, while movement is free other vehicles. 

Due to snow and glaze-ice, traffic at km25-km126(Dzedzileti-Mele) section of Kutaisi (Tskaltubo turn)-Tskaltubo-Tsageri-Lentekhi-Lasdili secondary road is restricted for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats, while movement for other vehicles is allowed only with application of anti-skid chains.  Traffic is free for tandem-drive vehicles. Traffic at km1-km25(Tskaltubo turn-Dzedzileti) section of the same road is free.

Due to heavy snow and avalanche hazard, traffic at km171-km198 (Kala-Lasdili) section of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili secondary road is restricted for all types of transport.

 

Due to snow and glaze-ice, traffic at km30-km171 (Jvari-Kala) section is restricted for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats, while movement for other vehicles is allowed only with application of anti-skid chains.  Traffic is free for tandem-drive vehicles.

Traffic at km1-km30(Zugdidi-Jvari) section of the same road is free.

Roads Department urges drivers to follow traffic restrictions imposed on roads and drive with winter tires.
