According to Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, due to heavy snow and avalanche hazard, traffic at km186-km198 (Ushguli-Lasdili) section of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili secondary road is restricted for all types of transport.

Due to snow and glaze ice, traffic at km70-km186 (Khaishi-Ushguli) road section is restricted for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats, while movement for other vehicles is allowed only with application of anti-skid chains.  Traffic is free for tandem-drive vehicles.

Traffic at km1-km70 (Zugdidi-Khaishi) section is free.
