The rehabilitation of the 7km section of Ponichala-Marneuli-Geguti international road has finished.

The rehabilitated section is situated in Bolnisi Municipality. It starts from Mashavera Valley, passing through the villages: Kveshi, Javshaniani, Kianeti and finishes at Kazreti crossing.

According to the project, the road was fully rehabilitated. The asphalt-concrete pavement was constructed and the existing road was rehabilitated. The culverts, junctions at local roads, entrances to residents’ yards and road signs were arranged. Auto pavilions and bus stops were installed and the carriageway marking was provided.

Ponichala-Marneuli-Geguti road reaches the border of the Republic of Armenia and its improvement is important for transit as well as for comfortable access to the tourist attractions of Dmanisi and Bolnisi.

The project is funded by the State Budget at the amount of 6 755 811 GEL.
