Rehabilitation of 14km access road to Khvamli tourism infrastructure in Tsageri municipality is intensively ongoing. Giorgi Tsereteli, Deputy Chairman of Roads Department of Georgia, inspected rehabilitation works on site.

Rehabilitation works of Khvamli historic mountain is significantly important for local population, in tourism perspective and for pilgrims that get access to the monastery complex by passing through the mentioned road.

Existed road was severely damaged and potholed and movement was quite difficult especially during bad weather. The project envisages complete rehabilitation of the road, arrangement of cement-concrete pavement, rehabilitation of existed bridge and artificial structures. A stadium will be arranged at tourist spots. The carriageway will be marked, traffic signs, guardrails and concrete parapets will be developed within the project.

The project, worth GEL 15, 851, 500 is state budget funded. Its completion is planned for the end of the current year.
