10 Streets to be Rehabilitated in the City of Kutaisi

Roads Department of the Ministry of regional Development and infrastructure of Georgia, under the order of Georgian government will rehabilitate 10 streets in the city of Kutaisi.

Rehabilitation of five streets are currently underway. Works are ongoing on the following streets: 1.4 km Javakhishvili Street, 0.3km Shartava Str, 0.7km Bukaidze Str, 1.3km Ninoshvili Str and 1.9km Gugunava Street.

Total cost of the mentioned projects amounts to ₾ 9, 474, 400. Rehabilitation works will be completed gradually, by the end of 2019.

Irakli Karseladze, First Deputy Minister of the Regional Development and Infrastructure, Chairman of the Roads Department and Giorgi Chigvaria Mayor of the city of Kutaisi inspected the work progress on-site.

Works are planned to be commenced on five additional streets of Kutaisi, in particular 3km Aghmashenebeli Str, 2.8km Tsereteli Str, 1.5km Liberty Str, 0.3km Saiatnova Str. and 2.7km street connecting Nikea Street and Sulkhan-Saba avenue. Approximate principal sum for the planned projects amounts to ₾ 18 million.  

Rehabilitation project of the streets of Kutaisi city envisages paving of asphalt-concrete, rehabilitation of artificial structures, culverts, curbs, sidewalks and road signs will be arranged. 

After completion of the project, road users and local population will be able to move on an upgraded and comfortable road.

A total of 22 projects are currently underway in Imereti region. It envisages rehabilitation of 56.1km road and seven bank protection projects.  Three rehabilitation (10.8km) and two bank protection projects, worth ₾ 6, 232, 700 were already completed in 2019.

Principal sum of the ongoing projects amounts to ₾ 58, 531, 000, which will be gradually outlaid during 2019-2020. Out of them, 19 projects will be completed in 2019 and the remaining 3, will be finalized in 2020.
