Construction of Khevi-Ubisa and Ubisa-Shorapani sections of Rikoti pass road are developing simultaneously.

During construction works, appropriate measures were undertaken for assuring road safety, in particular speed bumpers were arranged at two points at Khevi-Ubisa road, while rumble strips were arranged at Khevi-Ubisa and Ubisa-Shorapani roads.  Traffic speed is limited to 40km/h at the entrances of both sections. The roads are equipped with applicable road signs.

Rikoti pass section represents one of the main parts of a highway. Construction works are actively progressing at two sections – Khevi-Ubisa (12,2km) and Ubisa-Shorapani (13km) of the mentioned road. Tender procedures are currently at the completion stage for the first, Chumateleti-Khevi section as for the fourth, Shorapani-Argveta section tender procedures are ongoing at this stage. 

Total of 51.6km road, including 96 bridges and 53 tunnels will be constructed within Rikoti pass road project.
