Construction of 18.5 km long Samtredia-Grigoleti road (Lot 2) is actively progressing. Issues related to road settlement are mainly addressed and almost 16 km of road is constructed.

First Deputy Minister of MRDI, Chairman of Roads Department - Mr.  Irakli Karseladze personally inspected ongoing works on site.

Samtredia-Grigoleti (Lot 2) project envisages construction of 18.5 km 4-lane asphalt concrete road, 16 bridge crossings, including 3 road interchanges (viaducts), culverts and underpasses.

Project goal is to accommodate increasing traffic flows; ensure safe driving and uninterrupted traffic at international road of high intensity throughout the country.

Lot 2 of Samtredia-Grigoleti road will pass through Lanchkhuti city and the following villages of Lanchkhuti municipality: Japana, Kviani, Nigoiti and Kvemo Shukhuti. 

Contractual value of this road section amounts to 254 MIO GEL. About 400 people are employed at works.

Works are ongoing at Lots I and IV of Samtredia-Grigoleti road, but at Lot III, whereon contract is terminated for default of the contractor, is the final stage for preparation of bidding documentation to retender it.
