The design of 18km road and railway accessing to Anaklia deep sea port is in active process. By this time, the Topo-Geodetic works are in final stage and geological works are carrying out intensively. Concurrently four design teams are working on site. Within the scope of design, the documents of Environmental Impact Assessment and Resettlement Action Plan will also be prepared.

The Deputy Chairman of the Roads Department- Levan Kupatashvili and the state representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti- Aleksandre Motserelia inspected the process of design works on site.

The Australian Multinational Company SMEC is implementing the design of the road and railway accessing to Anaklia deep sea port. SMEC must finish the design in October. Design contract value amounts to 7 million GEL.

The construction of the road and railway accessing to Anaklia deep sea port is planned in 2019.
