In Chuberi village of Mestia Municipality, the overflowing of existing river Devra (the tributary of Nenskra),caused by the abundant precipitation, resulted in the overflowing of the river Nenskra.

By this time, the population of Chuberi and the surrounding infrastructure are not in danger. Only a few protective structures have been damaged and the restoration works will begin immediately after the water level decreases. In case of necessity, the relevant equipment will be mobilized on spot.

Last year, after the disaster in Chuberi, restoration and disaster prevention measures were undertaken, the bank protection structures were installed in the riverbed of Nenskra.

In spite of the fact that maximum precipitation was noticed in Nenskra River which can be fall once in a 100years, all bank protection and disaster prevention structures are still operating and functioning. There are just several minor damages, which does not pose a hazard to population and adjacent infrastructure.

For the moment, the municipal services are mobilized and relevant equipment is involved in the liquidation works of the disaster.

We would like to remind you, that last year as a result of the heavy rain, the mountain collapsed and the river Nenskra was impounded, the impounded water broke the riverbed and houses located along the riverbank were swept away. Several bridges on the river were damaged and Chuberi valley and more than 10 villages were cut off from the outside world.
