The water level lowering and road restoration works have been started at the km 56 of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road caused by the landslide resulted in formation of the lake. By this time, five units of heavy equipment including one excavator, one crawler excavator and three bulldozers are working on the spot. In case of necessity, the number of equipment will be increased.

The representatives of inter-agency committee together with the specialists were on site two days ago. The specialists examined the existing conditions at km 65 and they set the problem-solving approaches. Local people were informed of the plan made by the committee and the works will be executed in accordance with this plan.

We would like to remind you that that besides km 56, two design teams are working to take a design solution on disaster-damaged sections and the submission of design solutions will start from the next week. Upon submission of the design, disaster prevention, bank protection and civil works will launch. By this time, totally 10 problematic sections are identified.

Inter-agency committee is comprised of the representatives of Roads Department of Georgia, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Emergency Management Service, Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Ministry of Defense and Design Organizations.
