Inter-agency committee meeting was held to solve existing problem and start disaster clean-up operations at km56 of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road whereon landslide resulted in formation of the lake.

Inter-agency committee is comprised of the representatives of Roads Department of Georgia, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Emergency Management Service, Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Ministry of Defense and Design Organizations.

Committee discussed the challenges and problems existing at km56 of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road. Today committee members will fly by helicopter to disaster zone and study the situation in place whereafter disaster clean-up operations will start.

Snow cleaning works and restoration of sections damaged in winter are progressing on both sides of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road. Concurrently two design teams are working to take a design solution on disaster-damaged sections. Upon submission of the design, disaster prevention, bank protection and civil works will launch. By this time, totally 10 problematic sections are identified.
