Design works, disaster clean-up operations and prevention works continue as going concern at Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road. From the moment of disaster, all heavy equipment and required resources are mobilized on site, thus, despite the scale of natural disaster enable to conduct road-cleaning works at km9 of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road and open movement within one week. Several companies are working simultaneously to restore damaged sections.

It is noteworthy that the shepherds are able to move to Tusheti by walking paths from May 20.

Snow cleaning works and restoration of sections damaged in winter continue on both sides of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road. Concurrently two design teams are working to take a design solution on disaster-damaged sections. Working on design have been continued for 3 weeks and submission of design solutions will commence from the next week gradually. Upon submission of the design, disaster prevention, bank protection and civil works will launch. By this time, total number of identified problematic sections is 10.

The lake formed as a result of landslide at km56 of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road, still remains a challenge despite of several attempts to resolve this issue.  Tender will be announced in June to take a design solution for this section and address mentioned problem.

We would like to remind you that the carriageway at km9 of Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo secondary road, in Lechura village, was indulged by floodwater. Therefore, traffic is restricted at km9-km72 section of the mentioned road for all types of transport.  Traffic is free at km1-km9 section of the mentioned road.
