Road pavement of 200 m section of 5.6 long Stepantsminda-Trinity Church access road is damaged due to natural disaster in Kazbegi Municipality. Upon identification of the problem, Roads Department took immediate response actions in terms of road safety and one-way traffic is provided on damaged section. Technical Divisions of the Department urgently visited the site and planned relevant actions to address the problems caused by natural disaster.

Design works have been already commenced in terms of disaster prevention and clean-up operations. Reinstatement of damaged section will start concurrently. It should be noted that additional works would not overprice the project value and would not require spend additional resources from the budget. Upgrading of damaged section will be financed from the original project amount considered for quality assurance – to the extent of 5%, which is deducted for this purpose from the contractor’s payables.  Based on preliminary assessment, 1,5- 2 months are needed for problem solution.

Project is financed from the state budget and its cost is GEL 7 793 854. State Construction Company implemented road construction works.
