Tender is announced in different way for construction of road, railway and relevant infrastructure access to Anaklia deep sea port for the purpose of procurement of detailed design documentation.

Three tenders were announced in 2018 for the preparation of the detailed design documentation for construction of road, railway and relevant infrastructure, but all of them were cancelled and the winner was not revealed.

By virtue of analysis of the reasons for the cancelled tenders and for selecting a qualified contractor, this time, the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia will select design documentation in a different manner. The form of the announced tender has been developed in accordance with the requirements of the procurement of international financial institutions and the requirements of the legislation for state procurement regulation.

Tender consists of two stages. The first stage includes the evaluation of the technical documentation and other qualification data while the second stage includes financial proposals. Overall, this format of tender will ensure minimizing the procedural barriers and the transparency of procurement process.

Estimated purchase price is 9 718 972 Lari. Roads department is going to enter into contract with the company submitting the best proposal until the end of the March.

The construction of Anaklia deep sea port is special economic, political and social importance project not only for the country, but also for the whole region. Thus, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure is interested to fulfill the obligations taken by the state in relation to the project.
