According to Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, due to conducted cleaning works, traffic for light vehicles is free on Mestia access road and movement is allowed without application of anti-skid chains.

Due to snow and glaze ice, traffic is restricted for trailers, semi-trailers and buses with more than 30 seats at km102-km186 (Lakhamula-Ushguli) section of Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili secondary road. Movement is free for other types of transport at km102-km186 (Lakhamula-Ushguli) section, while traffic at km138-km186 (Mestia-Ushguli) is permissible only by application of antiskid chains. Traffic for tandem-drive vehicles is free.

Traffic at km1-km102 (Zugdidi-Jvari) section of the same road is free.
