In Gardabani Municipality, the rehabilitation works of Vaziani-Martkopi-Norio-Gvtaeba secondary road is underway by the Roads Department of Georgia. The project is divided into two sections and in total 13 km will be rehabilitated.

Rehabilitation section is extremely damaged. Road with durable surface now is destructed. There are big holes created intensively on the carriageway which block the movement for road users.

Rehabilitation of the road will be completed fully within the rehabilitation project. Asphalt concrete surface, artificial structures, culverts, ditches, entrances of the inhabitants’ yards, junctions to local roads, auto pavilions and bus stops will be arranged. The bridge situated on the section will be rehabilitated too. Also, the carriageway will be enclosed and the road signs will be arranged. The rehabilitated road will be marked.

Vaziani-Martkopi-Norio-Gvtaeba road is used not only by the inhabitants but also the pilgrims of Gvtaeba monastery complex. The functioning road to the Monastery Complex is very important for tourism too.After finishing the project, it will be more safe and comfortable to get to the monastery.

The project is financing from the state budget at a cost of 7 531 227 GEL. Rehabilitation works began in April 2018 and will be finished in October 2019.
